Electrolysis Hair Removal is both Costly and Time Consuming, But it Works Great...

Yes, electrolysis hair removal is one of the more time consuming and expensive method of hair removal. However, you can expect the electrolysis hair removal method to produce permanency.

The method consist of applying electrical current to the hair follicle to destroy the dermal papilla (hair roots). When this is done, the hair shaft can be removed from the follicle.

The procedure can be done by an electrologist who uses an epilator (needle) that directs an electrical current to a single hair follicle at a time. Next he uses a disposable probe (filament) to penetrate the hair follicle and remove the hair roots.

One drawback is that electrolysis hair removal can only be perform during the active hair cycle. Once the current active hair is removed, you will have to wait for the next wave of resting hair becoming active. It is therefore not uncommon to take many weekly sessions, sometimes up to a year to complete the area.

The disadvantage of electrolysis hair removal include discomfort on the affected area, risk of electrical shock if not probably done, infection from unsterile needles and possible scarring from incorrect electrolysis procedures. Thus it's advisable to obtain the services of a licensed electrologist nearest to you.
